The member licensing boards of NCEES share a commitment to advancing licensure for engineers and surveyors. NCEES—including member board members and staff and professional engineers and surveyors from across the country—shared their time and expertise to support the organization’s mission.
There are many ways to get involved, including volunteering with an exam development committee, an NCEES standing committee or task force, or holding an office. Scott Bishop is a licensed surveyor, a member of the Utah licensing board, and chair of the Emerging Engineers and Surveyor Group. When asked about his experience as an exam volunteer he said, “I really enjoyed it. At first, I was intimidated, but there’s not one person in the group that is right and everyone else is wrong. Everybody works together, and there’s really a sense of camaraderie.”
